I recall the first moment I held a camera - my father’s, on holiday in 2011. At 14 years old, I watched him find beauty in the mundane, utterly fascinated. Back then I didn’t understand why he seemingly had no concept of time, and continuously made Mum and the rest of us late for whatever we’d had planned for the day. As soon as we’d think we had him walking next to us, you’d turn around and he’d be 300m behind us, on all fours, camera in hand and intently focused on what was apparently the world’s most interesting pebble. For a man with such structure and organisation in his life, this confused me. Less than a year and 90% of my part-time McDonald’s savings later, I bought my own camera and realised exactly the feeling he would experience every time he held his camera.
My photography is shaped by my travels, both across Australia and overseas, with a bent for wildlife and landscapes. I endeavour to capture stillness, symmetry, contrast and minimalism in nature, blending my fascination with balance and form into each shot. My work is inspired by the calm and untamed world around us, and I aim to evoke that sense of wonder and serenity in every image.
Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I hope my work resonates with you as much as the journey to capture these moments has with me.
